What Do I Wear Now?!
Share
Hey Beautiful,
You know I love to share with you what I’m reading. Recently, I lost a little weight (22lbs) and all of my clothes are just hanging off of me. So I decided to give myself a makeover. First, I had to figure out what style of clothing and what size do I actually wear now. So while I was in Barnes & Nobles the other day, I decided to check out their beauty and fashion section and found this book I had to have. I knew it was going to help me with my make over. Little by little, I’m shopping and learning how what not to buy thus the book is called, "How Not to Wear Black" by Anna Murphy.
Here are some highlights of the book that really helped me. The book is a great investment, at least I think it is. The book goes in a little more in-depth than how to not wear black, but helps you find your style and create your forever wardrobe.
Here goes my some of my favorite excerpts from "How To Not Wear Black, the book:
--Personal Style is Self-Expression. It's how your carry yourself, how your treat other people, your confidence, your essence and in the end your impact on others.
--Clothes should make you feel like the best --and most authentic--- version of yourself.
--Clothes can be a way to express and discover yourself.
--Look-lifters (jewelry/accessories) can turn you from boring to brilliant, from lackluster to luscious.
--Your body is your lifelong partner. To learn its intricacies, and to develop a sense of what clothes suit it and what clothes don't are the most important sartorial (style) tools we can develop.
--The Seven Shapes: hourglass, full hourglass, the triangle, the inverted triangle, the column, the rectangle and the rounded. You may be a combination of two shapes.
--It doesn't matter what size you are, as long as you are looking after your body as it deserves--as you deserve. The most important thing you will ever wear if your own flesh.
--Make peace with what you have got. Better still, celebrate it!
I hope you enjoyed a few of my favorites from How to Not Wear Black, the book. When you can moment be sure to checkout some look-lifters at www.mycelebjewelry.com.
